Even after 600km i got blisters after each run but they still gave me the opportunity to overcome the knee issues and build muscles supporting my knee. The Clifton was just an awkward fit so i immediately returned it. I've used Nike, Brooks, Saucony, Asics, New Balance and Mizuno. I've had shoes from every brand I like and dislike but Mizuno is my favorite. A blanket statement like "all nikes are bad" is just as unproductive as saying "all Mizunos are good". pvera • 6 yr. ago. Brooks is interesting because it's the first brand that - while still offering different degree of stability in their shoes - went away from the traditional way of classyfing their running shoes.

Really, you should have at least two pairs to rotate through for training. I would go 4-6mm for longer runs and 6-8mm drop for shorter and tempo runs. If I had to narrow down to just two: Saucony Endorphin Shift 2 for long runs. Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 or Asics Novablast 2 for tempo runs and daily runs up to 8 miles.

But for regular running shoes I would either reccomend Asics Nimbus, Asics Keyano, or Brooke's ghost 10. Saucony Is also a renowned brand. Basically shoes with very flat outsoles. Been having a pretty good time with the Puma Liberate Nitros too but the Puma grip is a bit sticky. Endo Speed 2 is by far my fave and I wear the most. Others I’ve tried on treadmill but didn’t like: Nike Invincible and Adidas SL20. Both too grippy, and better for outdoors. Both the Ride and Rincon are good options if you're a casual, as they're light and can go fast enough for non-plated shoes. Otherwise many others have given good advice on plated options. My list of non-carbon plated 5-10k race shoes. Adidas Takumi Sen 8/9: Technically not carbon plated, it has plastic rods.Skechers Max Road 6: Same reasons as above, except for the price of $140. Puma Magnify Nitro 2: If the Max Road 6 is too expensive and the Magnify 2 is for a good discount, I'm going with this. Reebok Floatride Energy 5: Slightly increased stack, slightly lower drop, torsion shank, nice colorways, $110 price tag.Mizuno Wave Neo Wind or New Balance Tempo v2. Talking about a new shoe, it’s the On Cloudmonster. Been using it for majority of my runs, put 500 miles on my first pair in about 3 months and it still has life on it, have 2 more pairs waiting. I have 300 miles on mine and they are just simple, perfectly done shoes. Xero Shoes Aqua X’s can be worn with or without socks; they are overpriced though in my opinion (I got them on the initial launch sale, they might go on sale again eventually). Just 7.2 ounces each for a men’s 9 and have a 5.5 mm sole. You can easily remove the insole as well.
